Run the scanner from your AI assistant
The Swift A11y MCP server lets an AI assistant run the scanner for you. Ask Claude, Copilot or any client that speaks the Model Context Protocol to scan a page, and it comes back with the findings in plain words: how many problems, how serious, which to fix first.
What it can do
- Scan a page or a set of pages on one site. The same three engines as the extension, with duplicates merged, plus the checks the engines cannot make on their own: focus order, and what a screen reader would announce.
- Return a digest, not a dump. Severity totals, where the page stands against WCAG 2.2 A and AA, what was confirmed automatically and what still needs a person, and a short list of what to fix first, grouped by shared component.
- Read an earlier scan again without running it again.
- Publish a report to a link you can send, only when you ask it to.
Where it runs
On your own machine. The scanner opens a real browser on your computer and keeps its results in a local database. Nothing about the page or the results leaves the machine unless you choose to publish a report.
How to get it
The MCP server is part of Swift A11y Scan, which is open source under the AGPL-3.0 licence. A one-line install is coming. Until then, ask and we will set you up: dev@swifta11y.com
For IT teams
The server speaks to the assistant over standard input and output on the same machine. It makes no network request of its own except to open the page being scanned and, only on an explicit request, to publish a report.
